Tips for Efficient Printing
Before proceeding:
  • To print more columns on a single page, print the report in Landscape mode. To do this, change your printer's 'Orientation' to Landscape in your browser's Printer Settings dialog box.
  • Hide unneeded columns (to reduce print output width) by unchecking column names in the 'View Preferences' box at the bottom of this screen. If this screen is currently in the 'Plant Images Only' view, you must first click the 'Display In List Format' checkbox before you can hide the columns you do not want to print. Your print output will match whatever you are viewing here.

Summer Sparkles®
Click to display
Baby’s Breath has come a long way over the years, with breeders improving their habit, bloom time, and longevity in the garden. SUMMER SPARKLES® sets a new standard in taller Gypsophilas. Unlike most which are quite open in habit and go dormant in late summer, this new variety has a much more compact, refined looking form and looks great in the garden all season.

It forms a uniform, very densely branched, rounded clump of grey-green foliage that becomes completely covered in flowers from late spring through midsummer. The white flowers are small, semi-double, and slightly fragrant. They are borne prolifically on all sides of the plant. Deadheading the first round of flowers will encourage the plant to rebloom.

Joe Pye WeedEupatorium dubium
Baby Joe
Click to display
‘Baby Joe’ offers the same look as the commonly grown variety ‘Purpurea’ but at a much smaller scale, making it easy to fit into the middle of the flower border or even into large containers. It looks very much like a miniature version of the original, with its sturdy dark purple-red stems, rugose dark green foliage, and large panicles of mauve-purple flowers. They attract butterflies in droves. This plant is also nice for adding color in the garden at a time when many other plants are finished for the season. If left standing, the seed heads offer visual interest through the winter.

Baby Red

Baby Red is a petite-flowered, mounding variety with healthy, dark foliage ideal for containers and small space gardens. AAS’ expert judges praised the uniformly compact plants that sported flowers with consistent coloration. Their compact habit means less “flower flopping” with their blooms remaining upright throughout the season. The red color is uncommon in nasturtiums and contrasts beautifully with the dark-green foliage. Bonus: both the leaves and flowers are edible!

Blue Jean Baby

Need a shorter, manageable Russian Sage that is still vigorous in the landscape and production? Try ‘Blue Jean Baby’! Lavender blue flowers held in smoky purple calyxes bloom for a long period starting in midsummer, with the color from the calyxes extending appeal into fall. This variety is one of the earliest Perovskia to bloom. This bushy selection joins the lineup of Perovskia from the Walters Gardens, Inc. hybridizing and, like the others this program has introduced, resists lodging. ‘Blue Jean Baby’ is a vigorous selection which replaces Peek-A-Blue®

Speedwell (Spiked)Veronica hybrid
Baby Bloomer Blue
Click to display
Veronica 'Baby Bloomer Blue' has great, deep violet-blue flowers from late spring until autumn. It has a compact, upright growth and becomes about 14” tall and 12” wide. It is longer flowering and more floriferous than other varieties and bees and birds are crazy about it. So it’s great for biodiversity! Above that, Baby Bloomer Blue is very hardy and requires little maintenance. Just remove dead flower spikes and it will rebloom. Plant Baby Bloomer Blue in the sun or partial shade in any moist, well-drained garden soil. Great for perennial borders, mass planting, as ground cover or in containers on balcony or terrace.
